Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We do not require an account to browse the public website. If you create a free member account, Base44 processes your account identity and we may store the profile information you choose to add, such as name, phone, location and notification preferences. Vehicle Advisor answers are processed in your browser to generate your results. To preserve an in-progress consultation or result when you navigate away and return in the same tab, the Advisor may keep those answers temporarily in sessionStorage for up to 30 minutes. That temporary tab session is not sent to our backend by the Advisor and is cleared when it expires, when you retake the questionnaire, or when the browser tab session ends.

Signed-in members can explicitly save Vehicle Intelligence report snapshots and vehicle comparisons to their private account. Saved vehicle reports use a keyed one-way VIN fingerprint plus a masked VIN suffix for recognition; the raw VIN is not stored merely to support saved report history. Saved comparisons contain the user-entered comparison values the member chose to save. These private records are scoped to the member account and are not public Directory or editorial content.

If you choose a business account, we may also store the private business details you add to your profile, such as business name, your role or relationship, category and website. Selecting a business account is self-declared and does not by itself verify your authority to represent a business or publish anything to the Directory.

If you use the Business Workspace to claim an existing Directory listing or submit an unlisted automotive business, we store the representative claim, the relationship you describe, the verification context you provide, the claim status and, for a new business submission, the proposed listing details needed for review. Autosavvy101 administrators review these requests before a representative relationship is approved. The recorded verification method may include official email, website contact, phone callback, business documentation or manual public-source review. A verified representative relationship confirms only that we accepted the account as authorized to represent that Directory business; it is not an endorsement of the business, its services, safety or quality.

After representative verification, a business representative may submit proposed changes to factual Directory profile fields such as name, category, description, contact details, services and opening hours. Those proposals are stored privately with their review status and are not applied to the public Directory until an Autosavvy101 administrator approves them. Trust, promotional and editorial fields such as verification indicators, Featured placement, listing identity and media remain under Autosavvy101 control.

When you run a free vehicle check, the VIN is processed through our Base44 backend and may be sent to an automotive-data provider for global vehicle decoding and to NHTSA vPIC for available U.S. supplemental details. If you choose to load reference photos, the VIN may also be sent to the automotive-data provider's vehicle-photo service. Cloudflare Turnstile processes the security challenge used to protect these limited provider requests from automated abuse.

Vehicle reference photos returned through an automotive-data provider may be delivered from the provider or a third-party image host or CDN rather than from Autosavvy101 itself. When your browser loads one of those image URLs, the image host receives the ordinary network information needed to serve the file, which can include your IP address, browser or user-agent information and request metadata. We do not intentionally use those image requests for advertising profiling.

When verified-email protection is enabled, we use the email address to verify your free vehicle check and help protect the limited lookup allowance from automated abuse. We reject known temporary or disposable email domains. After the human-verification check succeeds, we may validate only the domain portion of the submitted address against DNS mail-routing records; the full email address is not sent to a separate email-validation service for that check. The plaintext service email is not retained by default in the verification record. Instead, the application stores keyed one-way email and VIN fingerprints, challenge metadata, status and bounded counters for no longer than 24 hours. The submitted VIN and raw IP address are not intentionally persisted in these verification records.

Marketing is separate and optional. Newsletter and promotional-offer preferences are off by default for member accounts unless you explicitly opt in. We store an email address for Autosavvy101 marketing only after an affirmative opt-in to the marketing checkbox and successful email verification. You can withdraw that consent using an unsubscribe option included in marketing messages when available, or by contacting contact@autosavvy101.com. Declining marketing does not prevent you from receiving the requested free vehicle check.

Cloudflare Turnstile processes the human-verification challenge. An automotive-data provider and NHTSA vPIC may process the VIN for vehicle-data lookup as described above; the verification email address is not sent to those vehicle-data services as part of that lookup. If an email-delivery provider is enabled, the address is transmitted to that provider only as needed to deliver the verification code. These providers may process requests under their own privacy practices.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage only for limited preferences and temporary interface state. Managed editorial and Directory content is stored in Base44 rather than browser local storage. We do not use advertising cookies.

If you use the anonymous vehicle comparison, the working comparison is stored locally in your browser so it can persist across browser restarts. It may contain research details for up to five vehicles and free-text notes you choose to enter. The working comparison is retained for up to 30 days after your most recent change and is removed when it expires, when the stored state is invalid or corrupted, or when you use the Clear comparison action. If you sign in and explicitly save a comparison to your account, that saved copy is stored separately as a private member record rather than relying on the browser-only working copy. Please keep comparison notes vehicle-focused and avoid entering personal information.

Autosavvy101 disables Base44 automatic browser product analytics in the website application. This does not mean that all operational logging, security records, reliability measurements or service-side usage information are disabled. Base44 and other service providers may still process technical information needed to operate, secure and maintain their services.

Third-party links

Our Directory may link to external business websites once production listings are approved, and we may link to third-party providers for vehicle history reports. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
